What is this crap?

Flaming Spud Rhapsodies consists of musical musings of one Stephen W. Terrell, retired reporter and former music columnist (Terrell’s Tune-up) for the Santa Fe New Mexican, a 30-plus-year host of Terrell’s Sound World at KSFR, Santa Fe Public Radio, former host of The Big Enchilada Podcast and a rock ‘n’ roll loony since. even before he saw The Coasters singing “Charlie Brown” on TV when he was five years old.

Terrell is an old codger who still loves discovering new music. At the age of 72 he was nearly trampled in a mosh pit at an Ekko Astral performance in Denver. (But he did swear off mosh pits after that little mishap)

He’s not one of those Boomers who sits around saying “We had the best music back in the ‘60s” and frequently has to explain that most of his favorite music is that which he’s too old for — or too young for.

Basically this Substack is a continuation of — and revitalization of — the old Stephen W. Terrell Music Web Log (which still is being used as a repository of Terrell’s radio playlists.)

Why subscribe?

Why not? You’ll never miss an update because every new post is sent directly to your email inbox. No ads. No spam. No shit! And according to Substack, you’ll be "part of a community of people who share your interests.”

That’s all we really want in life anyway, isn’t it.
